"Boat-ride to Hell begins here"

Films: The Ferryman (2007)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Ocean

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral, leaning on Good

Summary: Cheating death is a fool's errand. It might work for some time. But eventually, destiny arrives. But sometimes, it takes the pluck and ability of mortals for the immortal to get what he deserves.

History: The Ferryman is a figure who takes the souls of the dead to Heaven or Hell. But a while ago, he got tricked. A man simply known as "The Greek" managed to transfer his soul via a magic dagger into someone else, and has been doing this over and over again to cheat the Ferryman. Now, some vacationers bound for Fiji are about to be hunted down by the Greek for their bodies, and only one who can get him/her to pay the Ferryman can stop it all.

Notable Kills: See Final Fate.

Final Fate: The final girl manages to trick The Greek into holding a coin for the Ferryman (by kissing a woman's body no less), who appears right on time to take that sonuvabitch's soul and toss his current host’s body into the sea. However, it is later shown that the survivor is using the dagger to help her mortally wounded boyfriend find a better body. It seems that the Ferryman's job is far from over.

Powers/Abilities: Immortality and implied omnipitence.

Weakness: Should one transfer his/her soul into another and not have a specific coin in their possession, he can't do anything about it.

Scariness Factor: 3-We'll admit, this guy's mug is no picnic to look at. He looks like Freddy Krueger if he went out fishing for some time. But at the same time, he goes after those who tried to cheat death and hurt other along the way, so he's not a bad guy. Really, we kinda pity him for having such a thankless job.

Trivia: -The Ferryman was played by Ben Fransham, who would later go on to be better known as a Nosferatu in "What We Do in the Shadows".

-The Ferryman was most likely inspired by Charon, the ferryman of the underworld in Greek mythology, right down to the thing with coins.

At least Charon was courteous!

"So...which one of you dodged the taxes on my services?"
Fun fact from the world of DUH!
He could stand to have some treatment for that.
